Walht about the Season of Lent:
- Lent is a time of 40 days and 40 nights.
- Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent and the people recieve the ashes on their head as a sign of penance.
- Fasting is part of Lent and it is when you give up something.
- Lent is part of the liturgical year and it all starts with Ash Wednesday which is a Holy Day of obligation.
- Ash Wednesday is when the father puts in sprinkles of water and oil in the ashes of the palm leaves that were left over from Palm Sunday on the year before.
- The Priest (Father Andrew) mixed the ashes until it is not dry or wet.
- The ashes are put on the forehead in the sign of the cross.
