Our physics project!

Today we conducted a mathematical investigation that involved properties of physics.

Purpose: To Design a prototype to investigate the distance one glass marble could roll on a hard surface.
(Create a device which is going to propel on class marble to see how far it will go.) [measure distance]

Materials:
  • 1.5 metre of masking tape.
  • 3  metre wooden ruler.
  • 3-4 glass marbles.
  • Chalk

Predictions:
1st marble: 5.30m
2nd marble: 1.50
3rd marble: 5.11

Method
Two rulers were taped together diagonally using the masking tape. Once secure, the prototype was taken outside to the court area to provide a concrete surface for the marble to roll on.

Our  prototype ( track) was elevated 440mm, by placing  the track into one of the fence gaps. We rolled the marbles down the track to investigate the distance it would travel.
Results:
1st Marble: 3.20m
2nd Marble: 2.22m
3rd Marble 2.48m

Conclusion:

That the higher the elevation of the ruler (our track) the further the distance of the marble will travel. The power that was created by the elevation is the physics in our investigation.

The Season of Lent

Walht about the Season of Lent:
  • Lent is a time of 40 days and 40 nights.
  • Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent and the people recieve the ashes on their head as a sign of penance.

  • Ash Wednesday is when the father puts in sprinkles of water and oil in the ashes of the palm leaves that were left over from Palm Sunday on the year before.
  • The Priest (Father Andrew) mixed the ashes until it is not dry or wet.
  • The ashes are put on the forehead in the sign of the cross.

Technacraft-Science!

8/6/18

Today we did a hot air balloon experiment first we had to stretch
our balloon so it can inflate and expand.
Then she got a tripod, balloons, flask , Meth burner, matches and a
Gauze mat, wet cloth and a dish, when we had the materials we need.
First we place everything on our working hand side so we can not
burn or get our papers wet.

Then we started our experiment to first we place our tripod, then we
get a ice cube then we rub our hands on the ice cube because when
you rub your hand it creates heat energy.

After we rub our hands we put the ice cube inside the flask, then we
put the gauze mat on top of the tripod.
Then we place the flask with the ice cube in it onto the Gauze mat.

Later we put a balloon onto the flask and we got a Meth burner
placed it under the tripod and we light the meth burner until it was
with flame. Now when the meth burner it lit up we wait until the ice
cube is melted.

Later the balloon started to inflate and expand then we Miss Garwith said to stop and gently take the meth burner out we put the cap on the meth burner and the fire stopped lighting  And we used our thumb to roll the balloon out of the flask then before we went home we had to write what does the candle smells, feels or Looks like we all decided that the candle smelled like a pillow and felt smooth and rough and the candle looked like a old candle from our grandparents.

Conclusion: My favorite part was when the balloon was filled up
with cold and heated air.

Community facility!

Christopher 1
In our community we could have a musician  because when we have mass on saturday or sunday the musician can help us practise our signing for church.

Also we need a teacher that knows about God because we can build up our knowledge about God.

We also need a fence with barbed wires so it can protect people who steals something from the community facility.

In our community facility we need a person could teach us yoga so we can turn away from our troubles and  go to peace with God and Jesus.

Community facilities also needs a gym teacher that can teach to eat healthy food and  exercise every day.

Our community facility needs a Maori teacher who can teach us how to say English words into Maori words.

We also need a picture of God,Jesus and the holy spirit so we can learn more about what did they done for us.

Our community needs a court so we can play different kinds of sports like soccer, baseball and basketball.

Christopher 2
Our community needs a small hall for our secret place to relax  and a tree house so we can play games or look out of the window.

In our community facility we need a garden so we can plant seeds the make apples and strawberries.

We can have a cafeteria  so they can serve something for breakfast, lunch and dinner for us to eat.

WE can have a ice cream shop to serve chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, strawberry ice cream, cookies and cream,Hokey pokey, Chocolate ice cream with Kit kat or flake and Chocolate and caramel swirl on Monday to Sunday every week.

In our community we should have a vegetables and fruit chart so people would eat healthy food.

Also we need plates incase someone's birthday happens next month or year. 🙌

My family and I were going to the big lagoon!

First my family we were having a walk across the big lagoon. We saw two playgrounds from each side, then we were tired and started playing.
Later on Our dad told to continuing walking around  the big lagoon.  The we saw ducks taking care of their baby ducks.

We fed the the duck with bread so they can take to their baby ducks to eat. Then we still continued our walk around the lagoon straight ahead I found another playground it was similar than the other playground we saw.

It was small and then we decided for another break, we played the game tag Sililo was it I was on top of the playground But Moonia wasn’t.
Then Moonia made a mistake and she got tagged the mistake was when Moonia was climbing up the ladder  she slipped and fell down, and then Sililo tag Monnia from behind.
Later our dad said to continue our walk around the lagoon, lastly we walked over the bridge.
